We provide continuing education opportunities for healthcare professionals, so you can stay up-to-date on important topics in the healthcare sphere and work toward your state licensing requirements for free. Some of our series also count toward professional development credits for K12 educators. How to claim CE/CME/CPD credit through ECHO as a Healthcare Professional:

Attend ECHO Idaho sessions for free CE/CME/CPD credits. Use the University of Idaho, School of Health and Medical Professions learning platform to manage your CE. After each session, return to the course page, complete the survey, and claim credit for your profession.

How to claim PD credit through ECHO as a K12 Educator: 

Join ECHO Idaho's K12 Education series to earn professional development credits. Offered in partnership with the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences at the University of Idaho, these credits are transcribed for free. Attend live or asynchronous sessions to start earning credit hours. Learn more in the K12 Professional Development guide.

Physicians, Pharmacists, and Nurses
In support of improving patient care, the University of Idaho, School of Health and Medical Professions is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credential Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Interprofessional Continuing Education
Activities planned by and for the health care team are accredited for Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change. All IPCE activities will be designated on each program page.

Physician Associates
The University of Idaho, School of Health and Medical Professions has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Psychologists
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the University of Idaho, School of Health and Medical Professions is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.

Registered Dieticians and Dietetics Technicians
Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific of IPCE activity awards CPEUs (1 IPCE credits = 1 CPEU). 
If the activity is dietetics related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed which are commensurate with participation in contact hours (1 hour/60 minutes = 1 CPEU). 
RDs and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Logs. Performance Indicator selection is at the learner’s discretion.

Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists
For the purpose of re-licensure, the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses recognizes the University of Idaho, School of Health and Medical Professions as an approved provider of continuing education. To be considered continuing education, the session(s) are required to be germane to your practice. Final acceptance of the credit for recertification resides with your state board. 
Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADC/ACADC/CPS)
The Idaho Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification (IBADCC) recognizes the University of Idaho, School of Health and Medical Professions as an approved provider of continuing education.
