Nicole Fox, MD, MPA
Dr. Nicole Fox is board certified in psychiatry and lifestyle medicine and holds a master’s degree in public administration. She completed both medical school and residency at the University of Washington, where she is now on faculty. She is an Associate System Medical Director for Behavioral Health at St. Luke’s Health system and in that capacity, is accountable for all acute care and consultative mental health care services. Her clinical work is in hospital-based consults psychiatry, a system asset she designed and built as a founding member of the BH service line. She has special interests in resident education, the intersection of physical and mental illness, maternal mental health, lifestyle medicine, and designing innovative systems of care delivery.
Dr. Fox is a recipient of the American Psychiatric Association's Irma Bland award for Excellence in Teaching Residents. In 2021, she was named the Clinical Faculty of the Year by the psychiatry residency program. During residency she also received the Outstanding Teacher Scholar of the Year Award.
When not seeing patients or training residents, she is involved in community advocacy work for mental health. She is the president of the Idaho Psychiatric Association, served as Clinical Chair of the Governor’s Advisory Board to the Behavioral Health Council, and represents Idaho in the National Judges and Psychiatrist’s Leadership Initiative in which she trains judges to identify mental illness in the courtroom and promotes early intervention within the social justice system.
Dr. Fox loves living in the mountain west with her family and pack of doodle-dogs.
