Andrea Winterswyk is the Deputy VISN 20 Pharmacist Executive and the Academic Detailing Program Manager for the VA Northwest Health Network (V20). She also serves as the PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Program Director at the Boise VA Medical Center. She earned her PharmD from Idaho State University College of Pharmacy, and completed her PGY1 and PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy residencies at the Boise VA.  Andrea is board certified in psychiatric pharmacy, and passionate about efforts to continually improve health care for individuals with psychiatric and neurologic conditions. 

Prior to her role with the VISN, her primary practice site was in residential rehabilitation, where she specialized in the care of Veterans with substance use disorders in an interdisciplinary setting. She has been involved in implementation of multiple new pharmacy services in specialty and primary care psychiatry, pain management, and substance use disorders, and strives to help other sites in V20 integrate clinical pharmacist practitioners in these fields at their facilities.

Andrea is excited about leadership and advocacy for the profession of pharmacy, serving in multiple positions within state and national pharmacy organizations and workgroups. In her non-pharmacy time, she loves adventuring with her family, playing volleyball, or experiencing new food and music.
