Norm Stewart – Superintendent, Marsing School District
With over 27 years in education, Norm Stewart has served as the Superintendent of Marsing School District since 2013. Under his leadership, Marsing has become a model for rural community school development through intentional partnerships and innovation. Stewart played a pivotal role in transforming the district’s old middle school into The HUB, a thriving community resource center that offers integrated academic, health, and social services to students and families. Since its launch in 2019, The HUB has helped secure over $5 million in grant funding, services, and volunteer contributions to support the district’s mission of reducing barriers to student success.
Stewart’s collaborative leadership was instrumental in passing a 2017 bond that funded a new middle school and gymnasium, supporting Marsing’s long-term vision for equitable access to education and wellness. He continues to lead initiatives that foster school-community partnerships, enhance student well-being, and strengthen family engagement efforts, which have earned statewide recognition.
Prior to his time in Idaho, Stewart served the Echo School District in Oregon in various roles, including K–12 Principal, Dean of Students, and PE/Health teacher. He is passionate about creating systems that support the whole child and believes rural districts can lead the way in innovative, community-centered education.
