Nanci Jenkins, PhD, RDN, LD
Nanci recently received a Doctorate in Education with an emphasis on Leadership and Organization Development from the University of Idaho. Her dissertation is Well-being: How Healthcare Providers Create Meaning in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous Rural American Healthcare Environment. Previously, Nanci earned a Master of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from Colorado State University. Her master’s thesis is The Effects of Oat Bran and Niacin on Serum Lipids in Hypercholesterolemic Type 1 Diabetic Children.
Before moving to Idaho from Colorado, Nanci was a Certified Diabetic Educator with over 20 years of experience working with people of all ages. She taught at the University of Colorado in Boulder for 15 years and maintained a private nutrition consulting practice with offices at the Colorado Cardiovascular Center and the Boulder Medical Center.
Nanci and her family moved to North Idaho in 2004. In 2016, Nanci founded the Bonner County Coalition for Health (BCCH). BCCH is a collaborative effort with healthcare providers, directors of local organizations, and community members to bring creative ideas and projects to North Idaho to improve community members’ health. Nanci is currently a board member of the state-wide Diabetes Alliance of Idaho (DAI). The DAI works to improve access to quality health care, increase awareness and support through education, and reduce diabetes-related complications for people with diabetes in Idaho. A Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist, Nanci is passionate about helping people of all ages meet their personal health goals. Nanci’s motto is Eat Well, Feel Well, Be Well!
