Veronica Timbers is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Utah State University. She earned her MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Ph.D. from Baylor University. She has 16 years of mental health practice with youth and has worked closely with schools, juvenile justice systems, and mental health programs to support wrap around care for youth and young adults in rural areas. Her current scholarship focuses on improving access to quality clinical mental health care in rural areas and the social determinants of health affecting rural LGBTQ+ populations. Beyond work, she likes to be outside and moving (i.e. hiking, running, snowboarding, climbing, playing mediocre soccer, and supporting her kids in their various sports and adventuring).
