Helen Brown is a clinical Professor Emeritus of Movement Sciences, University of Idaho. Over her 18 tenure at the University, Helen taught courses related to community and public health, critical health issues, health education pedagogy, and food systems/nutrition. In addition to teaching, Helen has worked extensively with local communities, Tribal communities, non-profit organizations, and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare in the public health functions of assessment, program planning, intervention, and monitoring and evaluation. Her research and outreach and engagement centers on health promotion and education and the development and translation of health data that drives critical and strategic public health intervention. Nationally, Helen has been an active member of the Association of State Public Health Nutritionists (ASPHN) and the American Public Health Assocation.
