Elizabeth Schackmann, MD, MS

Dr. Liz Schackmann is a Hospitalist at the Boise VA Medical Center where she also works as Core Faculty for the University of Washington Boise Internal Medicine Residency. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington. Dr. Schackmann attended medical school at the University of Utah and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington. She worked as a chief resident for the University of Washington Boise Internal Medicine program. She is a passionate medical educator who delights in getting to work with students and residents on inpatient wards. She also enjoys teaching fully trained physicians as a member of the core faculty for the UW CLIME Clinical Teaching Certificate program. She was the winner of the University of Washington Boise IM Residency Program’s Tina Juul Dam Teacher of the Year Award in 2022, and she won Joyce Wipf Rising Star Award from the Division of General Internal Medicine at UW in 2025. She is a past-president of the Northwest Region Chapter of the Society of General Internal Medicine.
