Born in Seattle, Washington, I was raised in Okinawa, Japan. I attended the University of Washington for medical school and residency, then completed my fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of South Florida. I practiced in Boise, Idaho, at the Digestive Health Clinic for 20 years. I then relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii, and currently work for Hawaii Pacific Health at Straub Medical Center. I was an avid skier, mountain biker and kayaker until my 11 orthopaedic surgeries. Now I'm just an avid golfer!
