Carlee Fountaine, MD (she/her) is an Internal Medicine and Palliative Medicine physician at the Boise VAMC. Dr. Fountaine was born and raised in Bozeman, Montana. She received her medical degree through the University of Washington Montana WWAMI program. Dr. Fountaine completed residency training at the University of Washington Boise Internal Medicine program  and stayed on for a chief year before completing a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Care at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She then returned to Boise and serves as an Acting Instructor with the University of Washington. She is a staff physician with the Boise VAMC and practices both inpatient medicine and palliative medicine and also serves as the Hospice Medical Director for the CLC Hospice House. She is deeply passionate about medical education, narrative medicine and the ever evolving role of the palliative physician. When not at work she can be found training for a marathon, reading a book, or snuggling with her two chihuahuas Loretta and Emmylou.
