About ID-PPAL
The Idaho Pediatric Psychiatry Access Line (ID-PPAL) is a statewide initiative in development to expand access to mental health care for children and adolescents. Idaho is the only state in the nation without a Pediatric Psychiatry Access Line, leaving many families - especially in rural areas - without timely support. ID-PPAL will connect primary care providers with child and adolescent psychiatrists for same-day consultation, treatment guidance, medication management, and resource navigation. By supporting providers directly, this program helps kids get care close to home, reduces unnecessary hospitalizations and out-of-state referrals, and strengthens the behavioral health system statewide.
