Dr. Freilich is a clinical practitioner of gastroenterology, with special emphasis on hepatology, in the Kansas City Metropolitan region. He is actively involved in clinical research locally and nationally. He has been the director of the Hepatitis Treatment Center since 2013 and has been the medical director of the Liver & Pancreas Institute at Research Medical Center since 2008. He was the director of Gastroenterology Education for the Goppert Family Practice Residency Program from 1994 to 2020.

Dr. Freilich received his MD degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine and completed his residency and internship in internal medicine at the Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago.
