
Asynchronous ECHO K12 Education: Youth Well-being & Upstream Prevention (2025-2026)
By participating in ECHO Idaho K12 Education series, educators can earn professional development credit. Credit is offered in partnership with the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and will be transcribed for FREE through the University of Idaho. Whether you join our sessions live or access them asynchronously, we recognize and appreciate your commitment to education. The ECHO Upstream Prevention Series is a free, team-based professional development opportunity for Idaho K–12 schools focused on strengthening school-based prevention efforts that directly target areas of need identified through local data. Over the course of eight live, virtual sessions and seven asynchronous learning activities, school teams (4–6 members) will explore topics such as risk and protective factors, data collection and use, community and parent engagement, and sustainable prevention planning.

Target Audience
This target audience for this series is educators, counselors, administrators, parents, and community members who are part of a school-based team.
Learning Objectives
- Define and describe upstream prevention and explain its relevance in the K–12 school setting.
- Increase data literacy by learning how to collect, interpret, and apply local data to identify areas of need in their school communities.
- Identify and implement realistic, relevant upstream prevention strategies tailored to their school context and student population.
- Recognize common barriers to prevention work—including community resistance, parent pushback, and funding limitations—and apply strategies to overcome them.

Joint Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, the University of Idaho, School of Health and Medical Professions is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Nursing
This activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.

Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the University of Idaho, School of Health and Medical Professions is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.

How to Access the Asynchronous Sessions
- Accept the Participation Agreement: Review the Participation Agreement, check the agreement box, and click the Enroll button. A confirmation message will appear at the top of the page.
- Select individual sessions: After accepting the agreement, check the box next to each session you’d like to attend. Click the Enroll button again.
- Confirm your enrollment: The Status will update from Available to Enrolled, and a confirmation message will appear at the top of the page. You will also receive a confirmation email for each session with access details.
- Complete all session components: Select a session and complete all required components (i.e., watch video, submit survey, claim credit).
