Overview:
- Describe the historical recommendations for delaying allergenic food introduction and how these practices contributed to rising food allergy rates.
- Summarize the key outcomes of major clinical trials, including the LEAP, EAT, and LEAP-On studies.
- Identify updated recommendations from major guideline bodies, including the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology (AAAAI), the American College of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology (ACAAI), and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
- Outline practical strategies for initiating early food exposures and maintaining continued, age-appropriate allergen introduction in infants.
- Differentiate recommendations for allergenic food introduction based on infant risk profiles (e.g., severe eczema, egg allergy, or no risk factors)
The fee to complete this training is $10 for CE/CME credit.
Target Audience
The target audience includes primary care providers (MD, DO, PA, NP, etc.), but all clinicians are welcome.
