Andrea Winterswyk, PharmD, BCPP, holds several prominent positions within the Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 20, including Deputy VISN Pharmacist Executive and Academic Detailing Pharmacy Program Manager. In her role as Deputy VISN Pharmacist Executive, Winterswyk is responsible for overseeing and enhancing pharmacy services across the VA Northwest Healthcare Network. She has been leading the postgraduate year two (PGY2) Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Program at the Boise VAMC since 2021, ensuring the rigorous training and development of future psychiatric pharmacists.

Winterswyk's extensive education and professional training include a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Idaho State University and postgraduate residencies in psychiatric pharmacy at the Boise VAMC. Her career began with hands-on clinical roles such as Clinical Pharmacist Provider specializing in mental health and substance use disorders and progressed to significant leadership and educational roles. She has also contributed as non-physician faculty for the University of Washington Addiction Medicine Fellowship and served in various positions supporting clinical pharmacy practice and substance use disorder management at the VA.

In addition to her clinical and educational contributions, Winterswyk has been actively involved in professional committees and advisory boards at both the VISN and national levels. She has participated in numerous quality improvement projects, focusing on optimizing prescribing practices and enhancing patient care strategies. Her leadership extends beyond the VA, with active involvement in professional pharmacy organizations such as the Idaho Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ISHP), where she has served in various executive capacities, including president. Winterswyk has also been recognized for her contributions to pharmacy practice through multiple awards, including the ISHP Pharmacist of the Year and ASHP State Affiliate President Leadership Award.
