Ann Flynn, Ann D. Flynn, MD, Professor of Medicine, University of Utah School of Medicine

Dr. Ann Flynn is Professor of Medicine and Division Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the University of Utah. She attended medical school at New York Medical College, completed internal medicine residency training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and completed gastroenterology fellowship training at Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by an advanced fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease, also at Indiana University.
Dr. Flynn's clinical interests center on the diagnosis and management of inflammatory diseases of the GI tract, including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and microscopic colitis. She is especially passionate about women's GI health, shared decision-making, patient education, personalized care for patients with IBD, and supporting patients as they transition from pediatric to adult GI care.
She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology Patient Care Committee and the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation Patient Education Committee. The University of Utah IBD Program participates in IBD Qorus, a national collaboration between patients and providers aimed at improving the quality, consistency, and outcomes of IBD care; Dr. Flynn serves as the program's physician leader at the University of Utah.
