Tuan Pham, MD

Dr. Tuan Pham is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, completing dual Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biochemistry and Microbiology, respectively. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, followed by an Internal Medicine residency and Transplant Hepatology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, and a Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Utah. He holds active board certifications in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Obesity Medicine.
Dr. Pham's clinical practice centers on the management of liver disease and liver transplantation, serving patients across both the University of Utah and Salt Lake City VA healthcare systems. His clinical and academic interests focus on improving and innovating the management of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through active involvement in multidisciplinary obesity programs, as well as through a Preventative Hepatology framework designed to better target the impact of obesity and sarcopenia on MASLD and chronic liver disease within the population.
