Amanda Cook, BSN, RN, SANE-A
Amanda Cook is a Registered Nurse and forensic nursing leader with over a decade of diverse clinical and leadership experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014 and began her career in cardiac critical care before advancing into surgical services, where she served as Director of Nursing and Ambulatory Surgery Center Director overseeing four surgical facilities.
Amanda has been involved in forensic nursing since 2015 and returned to practice in 2023, where she resides in her current role as Chief Clinical Operations Officer of the Forensic Examination and Response Network (FERN). She is a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner–Adult/Adolescent (SANE-A), a nationally recognized certification within this specialized field, and provides medical forensic care across the lifespan, including both adult/adolescent and pediatric populations. She has performed over 100 independent sexual assault forensic examinations and is a dedicated educator committed to advancing trauma-informed, evidence-based care.
Starting in 2016, Amanda has taught and now leads clinical skills lab trainings, facilitating approximately five courses annually. She has trained around 100 students, with nearly 20% returning for advanced or refresher education—reflecting her commitment to high-quality, hands-on learning experiences.
Her professional background also includes service as a BLS provider and OSHA Safety Officer. Amanda is passionate about equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge and clinical confidence needed to deliver compassionate, patient-centered forensic care to individuals impacted by violence
