Anita Alvarez, RN, BSN, PCCN, SANE-A is a registered nurse with nearly three decades of healthcare experience and more than 12 years specializing as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Idaho State University and has served in a variety of clinical roles, progressing from Certified Nurse's Aide and Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse and forensic nursing specialist.

Anita has been providing sexual assault forensic examinations since 2012 and achieved national certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner–Adult (SANE-A) in 2019. Her clinical expertise is supported by numerous advanced certifications, including Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).

Recognized for her commitment to patient care and professional mentorship, Anita received the Nursing Preceptor Award from Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in 2017 and was honored as an East Idaho News Feel Good Friday Recipient in 2018. She is an active member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Through her work in forensic nursing, trauma-informed care, and patient advocacy, Anita is dedicated to improving outcomes for survivors of sexual assault and advancing the education of healthcare professionals involved in their care.
