Brain health is a critical piece of holistic wellness and underlies our ability to communicate, make decisions, problem-solve, form and maintain relationships, and live a productive and full life.

Target Audience

The target audience is primary care providers (MD, DO, PA, NP, RN, etc.) and exercise specialists, but community members are welcome to attend.

Learning Objectives

In this symposium, we hope to achieve the following:

  1. Inform the general public on the modifiable risk factors of brain health across all stages of an adult life.
  2. Support creating an environment that de-stigmatizes all brain conditions to allow for greater community engagement for those living with cognitive impairment or brain injury.
  3. Educate health care providers about brain health as it pertains to prevention, wellbeing, treatment and caregiver support.

  • 4.00 AAPA Category 1 CME
    The University of Idaho, WWAMI Medical Education Program has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 4.00 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
  • 4.00 ACPE Pharmacy
    This activity is approved for 4.00 pharmacy contact hours.
  • 4.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit
    The University of Idaho, WWAMI Medical Education Program designates this activity for a maximum of 4.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
  • 4.00 ANCC
    This activity is approved for a maximum of 4.00 continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.

    Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

Social workers completing this course receive 4.00 continuing education credits.

    Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific or IPCE activity awards CPEUs (1 IPCE credits = 1 CPEU).

    If the activity is dietetics related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed which are commensurate with participation in contact hours (1 hour/60 minutes = 1 CPEU).

    RDs and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Logs. Performance Indicator selection is at the learner’s discretion.
